The academic community of the Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology has once again entrusted the position of Rector to Professor Marek Adamski.
The elections took place on 6th of March 2024. The current Rector was the only candidate. In the elections, he obtained the required majority of votes among the electors, i.e. representatives of employees and students (FOR – 86; AGAINST – 9; ABSTAINS – 3).
Prof. Marek Adamski is a valued zootechnician, associated with his alma mater since his student days. He received his doctorate in 2003. Six years later, he obtained his habilitation degree and the title of professor in 2017. In 2016, he took up the Dean`s position of the Faculty of Animal Breeding and Biology. Four years later, he was elected as a Rector of the then University of Technology and Life Sciences.
The passing term was a period of changes and dynamic development of the university, which, thanks to the efforts of prof. Adamski was transformed into the Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology. Along with the name change, a new strategy of the university was developed. The Faculty of Design and the Faculty of Medicine were established. The Rector announced the implementation of further tasks in the coming years, such as the construction of a new mortuary and medical simulation center, the construction of a horticulture center, the creation of several modern laboratories, the renovation of dormitories, the creation of a new food zone and a and create new edifice the Faculty of Design. The Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology is to develop new areas in education and scientific disciplines.

I also would like to thank the academic community for the trust they placed in me in these election. We are not slowing down. There are further challenges and successes ahead of us, which we will achieve together by creating a strong, interdisciplinary university, working to increase the academic potential of Bydgoszcz” says prof. Marek Adamski.
