General information
The classification procedure of candidates for the Doctoral School is based on the ranking of the sum of points obtained for the following criteria:

  • grades on the graduation diploma,
  • compliance of the field of study with the scientific disciplines represented at the Doctoral School,
  • the candidate’s scientific plans,
  • previous scientific/academic activities,
  • assessment of the candidate’s self-presentation and the course of the interview.

The prerequisite condition for joining the recruitment process is to indicate a candidate for the future doctoral supervisor and present an outline of one’s research plans. To fulfill this requirement, on the Scientific Disciplines website, we present the characteristics of the scientific disciplines of Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology, along with profiles of potential supervisors and the subjects of doctoral dissertations.

Admission limits
Limit for candidates to the PBS Doctoral School indicated as contractors or persons recruited to carry out research projects obtained through a competition and financed from external sources is within the disciplines:
1)    automation, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies – 2;
2)    information and communication technology – 2;
3)    civil engineering, geodesy and transport – 4;
4)    mechanical engineering – 2;
5)    chemical science – 2;
6)    agriculture and horticulture – 2;
7)    animal science and fisheries – 2.

Limit for candidates to the PBS Doctoral School referred to in § 1 sec. 3 of the Principles of admitting candidates for the first year of education to the Doctoral School of Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology is 0.

Deadlines for the classification procedure
The deadlines for the classification procedure of candidates for the PBS Doctoral School depend on the schedule for examining applications for co-financing of research projects obtained through a competition and financed from external sources.
The deadlines of the first classification procedure of candidates for the PBS Doctoral School for the academic year 2023/2024 are as follows:
1)    submitting a set of documents referred to in § 2 of the Principles of admitting candidates for the first year of education to the Doctoral School of Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology takes place from August 21, 2023 to September 1, 2023, 2:00 p.m. in the Office of the Doctoral School;
2)    the Recruitment Committee of the PBS Doctoral School conducts the classification procedure from September 4 to September 5, 2023 and announces the results of the classification procedure on September 8, 2023.
