Declaration of accessibility of Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology

The website is partially compliant with the Act of April 4, 2019 on digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities due to incompatibilities or exclusions listed below:

In terms of PERCEIVABILITY

  • lack of text alternatives for non-text content (e.g. alternative descriptions to photos and graphics that could be used by blind persons),
  • no text transcription of audio materials and movies
  • no subtitles for movies
  • lack of appropriate tags for each function (forms and data tables) so that the relationships between the content are correctly defined
  • not publishing images of text

In terms of FUNCTIONALITY

  • lack of possibility to handle everything using solely the keyboard,
  • lack of good visibility of the element that is currently selected using the keyboard (focus),
  • no possibility to disable and change keyboard shortcuts.

In terms of COMPREHENSIBILITY 

  • lack of visible and understandable labels next to each field of the form,
  • lack of available and understandable error messages in the forms and hints on how to correct them.

In terms of RELIABILITY

  • lack of status information available to users using assistive technologies,
  • lack of notification by assistive technologies of important messages or modal windows.

In terms of PERCEIVABILITY

  • logical content structure (headings, lists, etc.),
  • distinctions that are based only on color,
  • text colors that are clearly visible against the background color,
  • guarantee of readability and visibility of content and functions when the text size is increased by 200%,
  • guarantee of responsiveness: automatic adjustment of the view to the screen width of the user’s device.

In terms of FUNCTIONALITY

  • the option to play, pause, and stop moving content,
  • no flashing content and the ability to disable moving elements by the user,
  • a link that enables to quickly jump to the content (“skip to content”),
  • understandable and matching page headings
  • understandable links, the content of which clearly states where they lead,
  • headers that clearly describe the content and labels that clearly describe what to enter in a given form field,
  • avoiding complex gestures on touch screens or providing a simpler alternative to them.

In terms of COMPREHENSIBILITY 

  • a straightforward language (without unnecessary words and intrusive jargon),
  • avoiding words and expressions that are difficult for users or providing a simple explanation
  • explanations of abbreviations and acronyms,
  • specifications regarding he language of the page in the page/application code
  • a consistent laypout and operation of elements on all subpages.

In terms of RELIABILITY

  • has a valid code compliant with the HTML web standard.
