
On the 1st of August, 2025, Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology hosted the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Affairs, PhD, Mr. Krzysztof Gawkowski.
The visit was focused on work-related matters and on issues related to cybersecurity and the development of artificial intelligence.
During the meeting, the University’s development plans in the field of modern technologies were discussed. Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology is applying for funding for projects related to cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, hoping for support from the Ministry of Digital Affairs.
Starting in October this year, the University will launch a new degree programme – Cybersecurity and Teleinformatics. The programme has already attracted significant interest among this year’s applicants. In the field of artificial intelligence, the University has been conducting advanced scientific research for years under the leadership of Professor Michał Choraś from the Faculty of Telecommunications, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.
Participants of the meeting included: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Affairs, PhD, Mr. Krzysztof Gawkowski, Chief of the Political Cabinet of the Ministry of Digital Affairs, Mr. Damian Bokota, Deputy Mayor of Bydgoszcz, Mr. Mirosław Kozłowicz, and representatives of the University’s senior leadership Rector, Professor Marek Adamski, Vice-Rector for Development and Spokesperson, Associate Professor Szymon Różański, Vice-Rector for Education and Student Affairs, Associate Professor Małgorzata Gotowska.
Following the official part of the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister toured the University campus, visiting, among others, digital laboratories, research facilities, and teaching infrastructure.
