Dr. Damian Iwanowicz, Ass.Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering, is pursuing his scientific and practical passions related to traffic signalization during an international research internship at the Qatar Transportation and Traffic Safety Center at Qatar University (College of Engineering).

During his stay, Dr. Iwanowicz has the opportunity to closely examine the modern traffic control system developed for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in Doha, as well as to learn about the operation of the city’s autonomous metro and integrated transport system in this impressive metropolis.

He is currently conducting research on the use of driving simulators (for cars, motorcycles, electric scooters, and even pedestrians in VR) to assess transport behavior in road infrastructure with traffic lights. This is another step toward innovative road safety research and international scientific collaboration!
