PBS invests in the development of IT and digital technologies

Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology begins another investment. The Faculty of Telecommunications, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering will undergo a thorough reconstruction. New teaching rooms and laboratories equipped with modern equipment will be built. The university will allocate nearly PLN 8 million for this purpose.

The contract for the performance of construction works was signed on January 24, 2025. The Bydgosta company will thoroughly reconstruct 1,570 m2 of space. The scope of works will include, among others, modernization of internal installations, sanitary, construction, finishing works and delivery of furniture. A modern office and administrative space with a conference room and a social room will be created. Employees and students of the Faculty will gain 7 modernized laboratories, 2 seminar rooms, a lecture room and a workshop. A specially arranged student zone for relaxation between classes will also be created. Renovation works will last until September 2025 and will cost over PLN 5.7 million.

The university also obtained nearly PLN 2 million for the purchase of modern IT equipment and the establishment of 4 laboratories (Network Security, 6G Mobile Telephony, Wireless Network Security, Computer Forensics).

OVER 220 MILLION ZLOTY FOR INVESTMENTS
The Bydgoszcz University Science of Technology is implementing the largest investment program in the history of the university. Over 120 million PLN have been allocated for this purpose in the last 4 years. A new teaching building was built on the campus. Several modern laboratories and workrooms were created. The Faculty of Management gained a modernized headquarters. A proper anatomy morgue was opened for the needs of the Faculty of Medicine. For over a year, students and residents of Bydgoszcz have been using the new sports hall with a multi-functional pitch, climbing wall and gyms. The construction of the outdoor sports zone of the Academic Sports Center with a football pitch, athletics zone, tennis courts and a shooting range is coming to an end.

In September 2020, the state of the university's accounts was not optimistic. The debt amounted to over PLN 20 million, and individual properties were encumbered with mortgages. The loans were repaid. We have secured funds for the next
