Today, we officially launched the "Inżynieralia" Engineering Festival event series — a special initiative where we open the doors of our university to this year’s high school graduates. The first faculty to showcase their program was the Faculty of Medicine at the Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology.

The opening lecture, titled “Brain, Body, Emotions: How to Manage Yourself in a World Full of Stimuli,” was delivered by Magdalena Szwed, PhD in Health Sciences. Following the lecture, students were invited to participate in practical workshops where they could truly experience what it’s like to be medical personnel.

Mateusz Badura, MD, Associate Professor at PBS, demonstrated how ultrasound examinations are conducted, explaining each step in detail. Afterwards, students had the opportunity to perform ultrasound scans on themselves.

In the workshop “Physiology on Your Own Skin,” Małgorzata Gałązka MD and Katarzyna Dmitruk MD, both MDs and Associate Professors at PBS, guided students through experiments using different electrodes to explore how the human body functions.

To give students insight into nursing practice, Izabela Kowalik, MSc in Nursing, led an activity where participants practiced drawing blood on a specialized intravenous injection training model.
